Scroll is a private library with a machine-readable front door. Rather than handing an assistant a pile of files, it exposes a curated collection over the Model Context Protocol — so a client can search it, read a specific page, and cite exactly where a claim came from.
The interesting part is what accumulates on top of the texts. Notes are anchored to passages rather than to documents, passages can be linked to one another, and those connections are shared — so the library gets better the more it is read.
What a client can do
Read
Fetch any page or range on demand, with tables of contents, so citations point somewhere real.
Annotate
Anchor notes to passages, link passages together, and record what a text actually claims.
Connect
Point an MCP client at the endpoint below. It registers itself, and sign-in happens in the browser — there is no key to copy or store.
